Distinctive and Novel in Our Approach

Supporting pioneering discoveries in science, engineering and medical research has been and continues to be our mandate. In the area of education we support undergraduate programs that promote inventive approaches to instruction and effective involvement of students in research. In Southern California, we support organizations that enrich the lives of our region’s residents particularly children, youth and their families.

Origins

Any great endeavor has to start at the beginning. It is the Keck Foundation's privilege to help facilitate the birth of such works. This year's report, "Origins", contains stories about several projects that address significant questions ranging from "How did the Universe and life begin?" to "how can we provide foster children with a new beginning?" These projects are still in their infancy, and it may be many years before they prove their true value.

Next Counseling Advice Period

Counseling advice on Phase I submissions for the November 1, 2013 deadline will take place only between July 1 and August 15, 2013. Potential applicants are encouraged to submit their ideas for grants in the form of a single-page concept paper.
